Truth, Power, and the Lies that Shapes Us
“In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
- George Orwell
What happens when truth becomes a casualty... and the lie becomes the law?
In this episode of The Quiet Rebellion: A Calcination Series, it is examined how language is weaponized, how silence is bought, and how suffering is reframed to serve the interests of force. Truth, Power, and the Lies that Shape Us isn’t just about Gaza, propaganda, or the rewriting of history... it’s about what happens to a people, and to a soul, when reality is bent to preserve comfort rather than conscience.
From state-sanctioned cruelty to the soft complicity of apathy, it is explored what it means to tell the truth in an age that rewards illusion. We reflect on the difference between force and true power, and what is revealed when love refuses to remain silent.
This isn’t a call to despair, it’s a call to clarity.
Because truth, when aligned with love, doesn’t just expose what’s wrong... it lights the way home. It invites us back to integrity, to courage, to the kind of moral vision that refuses to reduce lives to numbers or justice to convenience.
If this reflection moves something in you, honor it. Share it with someone who still believes that love and truth, together, can break the spell of denial. Let this be more than reaction... let it be a quiet uprising of the spirit, a return to reality, a remembrance that the only power worth trusting is the kind that doesn’t need to lie.

Collected Data on the War:
Death Toll Surpasses 60,000
Gaza’s Health Ministry now reports over 60,000 Palestinians killed and more than 145,000 wounded since the war began on October 7, 2023. Over half of those killed are women and children.
Independent Estimate Suggests Higher Casualty Count
Researchers using mortality survey modeling estimate approximately 75,200 violent deaths, and an additional 8,540 indirect deaths from starvation, displacement, and disease between October 2023 and January 2025.
Total Deaths May Be Much Higher
Epidemiological models project up to 186,000 conflict-related deaths when including unreported and long-term indirect fatalities—though conservative estimates place the number closer to 62,400.
Civilians Make Up the Vast Majority of Deaths
Independent analyses show that around 80% of those killed are civilians, reflecting a 4:1 civilian-to-combatant ratio.
Infrastructure Devastation Across the Strip
Over 191,000 buildings have been damaged or destroyed, including 70% of homes, 87% of schools, and more than half of the roads.
Children Among the Most Affected
By early 2024, over 6,150 children were confirmed dead, and UNICEF reported that over 10,000 had died by mid-January. Many remain missing beneath rubble.
Mass Displacement Near Total
Nearly 2.3 million Palestinians have been internally displaced, essentially the entire population of Gaza.
Deaths While Seeking Food
Since May 2025, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed while trying to access aid. An additional 101 people—most of them children—have died from starvation. Nearly 100,000 women and children are acutely malnourished.
Aid Deliveries Still Critically Insufficient
Only 55 to 73 UN trucks enter Gaza per day, far below the 500 to 600 trucks required daily. On July 28 alone, 78 Palestinians were killed in strikes during aid chaos.
Mounting Human Rights Accusations
Organizations like B’Tselem and Human Rights Watch have labeled Israeli tactics—including forced starvation—as potential war crimes, with some genocide scholars echoing the concern.
Deaths While Seeking Food & Starvation as a Weapon
UN Confirms Over 1,000 Palestinians Killed While Seeking Aid
Since May 2025, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed while trying to access food aid. An additional 101 deaths—most of them children—have been confirmed as the result of starvation or severe malnutrition.
IPC Issues Worst-Case Famine Warning for Gaza
The UN-backed IPC classifies Gaza as a worst-case famine scenario. Acute malnutrition rates are soaring, and famine thresholds have already been exceeded in multiple zones.
Aid Distribution Sites Become Zones of Mass Casualties
Crowds gathering for food have repeatedly been attacked or stampeded, resulting in hundreds killed and thousands wounded. These events have intensified since early June 2025.
Amnesty and MSF Accuse Israel of Weaponizing Starvation
Humanitarian organizations warn that the deliberate blocking of food, destruction of bakeries, and targeting of aid routes represent war crimes and possible genocidal intent.
Malnutrition in Gaza’s Children Triples in Two Weeks
MSF reports an explosion in severe acute malnutrition, particularly among children under five and pregnant women. Nearly one in four children treated are clinically malnourished.
Starvation as a War Crime Under International Law
Legal scholars and global rights organizations stress that using starvation as a method of warfare violates the Geneva Conventions and may qualify as a crime against humanity.
